The Ramoino Family
Now into our third generation of winegrowers, we make wine from the grapes of our own D.O.C. certified vines
grown on the Ponente Riviera in Liguria:
Rossese di Dolceacqua, Ormeasco di Pornassio, Pigato and Vermentino della Riviera Ligure di Ponente

Giuseppe Ramoino took Angela to be his wife back in the 1950s, but he also fell in love with the Pigato wine made by her father, Tilò. Indeed, it inspired him to establish a brand new winery at Sarola. It was built entirely underground and produced wine with Pigato and Vermentino grapes brought in from the neighbouring vineyards.
In the 1980s, his children Domenico and Carla took the reins. The latter would subsequently venture out past Cape Berta, washing up at the town of Diano Marina. Here, with her young family, she gave life to Ustaia du Nin, which takes its name from her father’s nickname - Nin.
Together with his wife, the eclectic Elvira, Domenico continued to take the business forward. Inherently sociable, they decided to add a restaurant to the winery so they could share the joys of good wine, and good company, with friends.
In the first years of the new millennium, having fallen in love with the Rossese di Dolceacqua, Domenico and Elvira’s children Fabrizio and Fabiana, and Fabiana’s husband, Danilo, set about making their own version, acquiring new vineyards and a winery, including property at Dolceacqua.
